Personal Branding with the AvalonBay Women’s Leadership Network

Privileged to speak to close to 100 women at the AvalonBay Communities Women’s Leadership Network on a highly requested topic: PERSONAL BRANDING.

So often we can get caught in focusing on getting things done, being the reliable team member, and thinking that our work will speak for itself. We think we’re well positioned for a role, but you get passed over for it and wonder why someone who seems less qualified was able to get it.

This is why it’s so important to be deliberate about crafting and building a strategy to amplify your personal brand. It enhances your ability to achieve career goals and sets you apart.

It was encouraging to see the engagement and commitment of the women at the event this week. There were many powerful and inspiring statements from attendees that reflected their core elements of a personal brand.

Remember that branding is not your job title. A job title will change, but what stays with you is your greater sense of purpose, what you’re passionate about and how you transcend these elements into creating value to others. All of us have a unique value in the organization and it stems from our purpose and our own lived experience. Your uniqueness is your superpower!
